What is this document?

Our Privacy Information page is designed to explain how and why we process your data. We deliberately minimise the amount of data we collect, and we have done our best to use plain English and avoid jargon so that we can be as transparent as possible. Granja Penitente is a limited liability company (“Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada”, SRL) registered in Montevideo with the number 10243217. We value your privacy and we are committed to protect it to the maximum extent possible.

Using this website

Cookies

Cookies are small files that are stored on your computer or smartphone. They can be used for a range of functions, including monitoring the number of visitors to a website, distinguishing who is visiting for the first time, and identifying their approximate geographic location.
We do not currently use cookies and, should this change, we will inform you in this document.


Trackers

Trackers are powerful tools that generate a range of information about website visitors. We do not make use of such tools ourselves, but at the moment the website does use Google fonts and this results in information being sent to Google. We are in the process of changing this. Personal data

Personal data comprise any type of information that can
directly identify or make us identifiable. This includes name,
address, telephone, identity card (cédula), tax registration number (Registro Único Tributario/RUT), fingerprint, number of partner, student number, a photograph or even DNA

Website operation

Connecting to a website can reveal significant information about you, including your IP address, where that address is located, the time and date, the pages viewed, and the type of browser and operating system.

Our website is hosted by Squarespace. Like other hosting providers, Squarespace records details of connections in order to support its data analytics tools.

The personal data collected includes;

  • Web pages you visited prior to coming to this website

  • Your IP address

This information may also include details about your use of this website, including:

  • Clicks

  • Internal links

  • Pages visited

  • Scrolling

IP addresses are considered personal data and therefore we need to explain why we process this information. Obviously, it is in the interests of the site owner (us) and visitors (you) to ensure its secure and smooth operation. This means the processing is carried out on the basis of legitimate interests, which we have assessed in line with guidance published by the Uruguayan Unidad Reguladora y de Control de Datos Personales. You have the right to view this assessment and to object to the processing described above. If we receive such an objection, we will review our assessment with the aim of establishing the impact of stopping processing the relevant data.

The website uses font files from Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts. To properly display this site to you, servers where the font files are stored may receive personal information about you, including:
